Mock draft(first two picks)
With the NFL draft quickly approaching the There has been much speculation on what the Carolina panthers will do come draft day. With a limited supply of high draft picks draft picks(three in the first five rounds)the panthers will need to find a way to fill in large vacancies left behind by departed players.Really its almost imposible to guess who the panthers will pick.Chances are they will make up for the lack of picks this year by trading away next years picks just as they have done the past two seasons.
This is how I see it braking down if the panthers stay put in their current spots:
2nd-Mardy Gilyard WR
I know a lot of mock drafts have Carolina picking a quarterback here,a guy like Tim Tebow if he's available. The bottom line is that the panthers did not release Jake and name Matt Moore the starter just to draft a quarterback with their highest pick, Especially with so many wholes to fill on both sides of the ball.Gilyard would be the perfect pick here he's fast, elusive, and and a polished route runner. Mardy Gilyard would fit right in as starting receiver and provide another option for Carolina at the kick return spot.
3rd Cam Thomas DT
A lot of attention has been on second year defensive end Everette Brown this off season. Many feel that the panthers have lost the ability to rush the passer with the absence Peppers. With browns rookie season you have to look at the tape not the stats, you will see a young guy who knows how to rush the passer.Thats why i believe that the panthers biggest concern would be stooping the run.Cam Thomas is 6-4,330 pounds and powerful,Just the the kind of player they need to anchor the Nose-tackle positions. He lacks the ability to rush the passer so I see him coming in a being a situational guy for Carolina during his rookie season,a one denominational player but well worth a look here.

Why didn't the panthers go after Marshall ?
So the Miami dolphins just acquired Brandon Marshall who was originally tendered at a first round level but was traded for two second round picks(one this year and the other the next).Witch brings me back to my question why didn't the panthers go after Brandon Marshall ?With must speculation the the panthers will use the 48th pick to select a wide reviver in next weeks draft why wouldn't they just trade the 48th and next years second just like the dolphins did. This would have been a huge upgrade and would have give the panthers a proven playmaker and allowed them to focus on there defensive needs the rest of the draft.Tell me what you think.
